Any chance of an effort to transliterate Knuth's literate programming examples into something more web-friendly (ie this site)?

  http://www-cs-faculty.stanford.edu/~knuth/programs.html

I doubt very many people ever fetch those .w.gz files, decompress them, and install Knuth's cweb to read them... :-/

By the way, I know this isn't true literate programming but you might find the folding trick here something you could incorporate into your site: http://techennui.blogspot.com/2008/04/semi-literate-programming.html (perhaps the example isn't the best I could come up with, but you should get the overall picture from it fairly easily)

That would be great, but unfortunately we would need Knuth to release his example under a compatible license (MIT or public domain) in order to incorporate them. Dcoetzee 15:41, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
