[edit] Welcome!

Hi, Crypto, and welcome to LiteratePrograms! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a couple of tips for newcomers:

  • If you haven't done so already, please take a look at how to write an article on LiteratePrograms. The markup is basically the same as that used on Wikipedia, but there are a few differences of which you should be aware.
  • Please try to include a descriptive edit summary with every edit you make.
  • Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date.

I hope you enjoy editing here! If you need help, post a question on the Public forum, ask Deco (the site creator), or just ask me on my talk page.

P.S. Thanks for your contribution of Complex numbers (Java). It looks great! Hope you'll continue to contribute.

[edit] SVG support

Hi Crypto. I don't know if you're aware of this, but this version of Mediawiki has support for on-the-fly rendering of SVGs to PNGs. Just upload an SVG file and then reference it with normal image syntax in an article - it gets rendered by rsvg on this server. Hope this helps. Deco 01:41, 31 May 2006 (PDT)

Thanks for your comment. I changed the picture. -- Crypto 19:42, 31 May 2006 (PDT)
No problem. I went ahead and deleted the redundant PNG version. Deco 19:44, 31 May 2006 (PDT)

[edit] Quine-McCluskey

Hi Crypto. If you're around I'd like to strongly encourage you to continue work on Quine-McCluskey algorithm (Java), which logs show is popular recently with web searchers (at least 12 hits this week and 21 overall). I'll see if I can do some work on it also when I get a chance. Deco 17:34, 31 May 2006 (PDT)

Sorry for late response. I'll try to finish it soon. -- Crypto 16:39, 2 June 2006 (PDT)
Oops, I just found that you've finished it. Sorry. -- Crypto 16:42, 2 June 2006 (PDT)
Not a problem. It was a really fun algorithm to work with. I hope to write a C++ and maybe C# version as well. Also, those stats were a little distorted, like 10 of those hits were one guy. Please keep up the good work. :-) Deco 17:21, 2 June 2006 (PDT)

[edit] You're an admin

Hi, Crypto. I noticed you've contributed a lot of good stuff lately. I've made you an administrator, which allows you to do handy things like delete and protect pages, ban vandals, and so on. Please just ask me if you have any questions. Deco 11:32, 8 June 2006 (PDT)

Thanks a lot. It's a great honor. -- Crypto 18:32, 8 June 2006 (PDT)
Congratulations! --Allan McInnes (talk) 16:56, 9 June 2006 (PDT)

[edit] New area of programs

Ok, here's my qustion on your invitation. Is it ok to add a section with a title like Applications? Implementing e.g the insertion sort or quicksort is good to know but I'm thinking about things like having a GUI, which some stuff and get some information over the net and display it or the like.

There is no such section AFAIKT.

Well, even though I have become a sysop recently, I am also a novice here. But I am sure that you can contribute virtually any topic of interest. I have also written some not-so-algorithm-oriented articles such as drawing a Petersen graph using pic. So, I think it's OK as far as there is clear topic in your contribution and the code works correctly. -- Crypto 00:16, 12 June 2006 (PDT)
Yup, this is fine, any topic is acceptable (and in fact I'd like to see more of these GUI based topics). Just put it wherever you like. Deco 02:33, 12 June 2006 (PDT)
