[edit] Welcome

If I didn't already tell you, welcome to LiteratePrograms, Fredrik! You've added quite a bit of stuff, your Hello World (Python) seems to work perfectly, and you seem to have great ideas for expansion. I'm also a big fan of the Metroid series and love speedrunning, although only as a spectator so far. :-) I understand your sentiment that constructing a pre-existing hierarchy with categories is a little backwards, rather than creating articles and then arranging those, but I just wanted to help provide a skeleton for possible expansion at this point. Feel free to offer any suggestions or proposals at my user talk page. I'm glad to have you aboard. Deco 19:00, 2 March 2006 (PST)

[edit] You're a sysop

Because of your enthusiasm for the project and your long and reputed history on English Wikipedia, I've promoted you to admin/sysop. Now you can edit any page, including the interface messages listed at Special:Allmessages, delete articles, and so on. I hope it'll help. Congratulations. Deco 19:14, 2 March 2006 (PST)

Thank you! I unfortunately have upcoming exams, so I'll be less active here than I'd wish in the next few days. Fredrik 03:30, 3 March 2006 (PST)
That's alright, I'll be busy too, and there's no time limit. Good luck on your exams! Deco 04:12, 3 March 2006 (PST)

[edit] Category transclusion and noinclude

Hey Fredrik, I just noticed this, but to avoid including spurious parent categories in articles it's necessary to wrap the categories on the category page in a <noinclude> tag before transcluding it, as demonstrated at Category:Pi with Machin's formula. If you forget to do this you can add noinclude later, but you have to tweak the pages transcluding it before they'll be updated (a MediaWiki bug). Just something to keep in mind. Thanks for the hint. Fredrik 12:53, 6 March 2006 (PST)
