[edit] Welcome!

Hi, Kjetilos, and welcome to LiteratePrograms! Thanks for your contributions on the Java Singleton page. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a couple of tips for newcomers:

  • If you haven't done so already, please take a look at how to write an article on LiteratePrograms. The markup is basically the same as that used on Wikipedia, but there are a few differences of which you should be aware.
  • Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date.

I hope you enjoy editing here! If you need help, post a question on the Public forum, or just ask me on my talk page. --Allan McInnes (talk) 09:14, 5 March 2006 (PST)

Hi Kjetilos, welcome to LiteratePrograms. I'm guessing you're the user who contributed Singleton (Java). It hadn't occurred to me to include articles for design patterns, but this is a great idea. I've placed the category under Category:Software engineering and I might stub out some more categories for specific design patterns later. Thanks again. Deco 12:41, 5 March 2006 (PST)

That's right, I was the one who contributed Singleton (Java). My idea is to contribute all of the 23 GoF design patterns implemented in Java to this site and if time permits maybe some of Hannemann and Kiczales AspectJ design patterns from the webpage Aspect-Oriented Design Pattern Implementations. This site would be great place to see how different programming languages implement the design patterns. Kjetilos 16:23, 5 March 2006 (PST)
Hi again Kjetilos. I've added categories for each of the 23 GoF design patterns under Category:Design patterns. We just need the code now. Thanks again for your contributions! Deco 13:25, 6 March 2006 (PST)
